Social responsibility

GIORTAMIS Bakery is aware of the great needs of the Greek society and the special economic conditions we have experienced due to the economic crisis and the consequences of the pandemic on the families’ financial condition.

For these reasons, as an active member of our society and with a high sense of responsibility, our bakery has been implementing the action "Bread on hold" since 2017, thus helping our financially vulnerable fellow people. We also support needy families in our city by feeding them either directly from us or indirectly through the Church. We are in open cooperation and communication with cultural-improvement associations of areas of our city, offering help to our financially weak fellow people whenever necessary.

Whenever there was a need, we immediately helped our fellow citizens suffering from natural disasters, such as earthquake victims, fire victims and flood victims, with the immediate dispatch of dry food. Our recent action concerns the direct and continuous support of our earthquake-stricken fellow people in the wider area of ​​Arkalochori.

We are always by the side of the student population of our country, providing assistance to school students who need it. Indicatively, we mention the offer of our products to students of the 9th High School of Heraklion and the 33rd Primary School of Heraklion.

In addition, we proudly mention our participation in the action in support of the important project of the "Mission of Love", during which 4000 portions of food were prepared and distributed, in collaboration with "Thigatera" restaurant.
